Leafy Tropicals is a plant category on the Jungle & Loom Plant Care card that includes plants like: Varieties of Aglaonema, Anthurium, Dieffenbachia, Monstera, Philodendron, Pothos, and Scindapsus
These plants are both aroids and plants that vine or trail. You can encourage many of these plants to climb like they would in their natural habitats with coco coir poles or a trellis.
Another important thing to keep in mind about plants in the Leafy Tropical family is they can have large leaf surface areas, which means that they will need to be dusted/cleaned every one to three months to maximize their photosynthesis and potential growth.
Light for your Leafy Tropicals:
- Medium to bright indirect light, which means they can see the sky but not the sun for most of the day.
- Some will tolerate low light, but lower light will mean they grow more slowly.
Water for your Leafy Tropicals:
- For plants in 4" and 6" pots - Water when top 2-3 inches of the soil is completely dry.
- For plants in 8", 10", 12" and 14" pots - Water when the top 3-5 inches of the soil is completely dry.
