* Mounted plants are made with love and made to order; so they can take between 2-3 weeks to prepare before shipping or being available for pick up. After you place your order we will keep you updated every step of the way on your orders status.
This Staghorn Fern is mounted into a one-of-a-kind, antique basket with sphagnum moss. Sphagnum moss is green and brown in color. Staghorn Ferns are aptly named because of their bifurcated fronds that resemble antlers. These fronds extend from the center of the plant. Each Staghorn Fern also has at least one shield frond that functions to protect the roots of the plant. The shield grows in green, but will eventually turn brown. This is the natural life cycle of the plant, and it is not dying. Do not remove the shield frond. If the plant is well cared for a new shield frond will eventually grow over the older one, and then new antler fronds will extend out from the center of the new shield.
These plants are ephiphytes, which means in nature they grow attached to trees. This makes them ideal for mounting and displaying upright. This Staghorn Fern will thrive in a well lit room, but does not require (and should not live) in direct sunlight. The antler fronds will burn if they are exposed to direct sun for too long. The plant will arrive ready to hang on a screw, nail, or wall hook.
This particular Fern is relatively mature with wide, beautiful fronds.
To water, put the whole basket in the sink and run tepid water over the fern, moss, and fronds until they are moist. The moss does not need to be completely saturated. I recommend leaving the basket in the sink over night to let it dry before hanging it back on the wall.

No returns or exchanges. For all orders I will send you a picture before the plant is packed. I will do my absolute best to pack the plant in a way that keeps it safe, but I do not have any control what happens to the plant after it is in the hands of the postal service.
In the winter months you place your order at your own risk.
